Throughout every consultation Petros was totally professional and precise. He made me (and my wife when she joined me on one occasion) feel relaxed and important. It was crystal clear that he knew exactly what my issue was and how it could be addressed. He was thorough is every aspect and made sure that I/he/we understood everything that had to be covered. It was a pleasure to visit the hospital to see him, knowing that everything was in hand and that he would remember previous meetings and expected outcomes. His clinical knowledge is outstanding and I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone who needs his skills and expertise.

Mr Tsafrakidis has significantly improved the quality of my life. I wish I had met him sooner. Context / Background: I am a Scottish male aged 59 years of age. Pre aged 5, I had a partial Circumcision (I believe because of a tightness of the foreskin). At the time, this was deemed a success; albeit I grew up knowing that the operation had probably not been a success. Irrespective, I married and had two children; albeit the condition was always present and I was aware of it. It has affected my confidence ever since. Sexual Intercourse at times was painful and if I am totally honest with myself, this has affected my relationships and most probably my emotional and mental health and wellbeing. At times, alcohol became a comfort and a distraction. In my 30s and 40, I periodically consulted my GP (male doctor), who prescribed various creams which helped to some extent, but the underlying problem remained unresolved. My Journey: A couple of years ago, I reluctantly (embarrassment) consulted my GP (different male doctor) as the problem was more acute and sexual intercourse really painful. The foreskin was completely adhering and unmoveable. I was referred to the Urology Outpatients Department at Queen Margaret Hospital, Dunfermline where a Preputial Adhesion of the Foreskin was diagnosed. In early 2018, I received treatment as a day bed patient at the hospital and the condition was addreseed by way of day surgery - Adhesiolysis. The operation was performed under local anesthetic. The care and treatment I received at that time was very good. No complaints whatsoever. Whilst my recovery was swift, regrettably the condition quickly refrerred back to type, albeit not quite as bad as it was prior to the operation / recovery. Mr Tsafrakidis: After a further discussion with my GP, I was referred back to Urology and came under the care of Mr Tsafrakidis. This was the first time Mr Tsafrakidis was involved in my care and treatment. I first met Mr Tsafrakidis in mid to late 2018 and to be honest, whilst I was anxious, nervous and to some extent embarrassed, he made me feel at ease from that momemnt on. He examined me, diagnosed a recurrence of the same condition and explained to me the possible options. He allowed me complete control over the decision making and the way forward, providing me with the professional knowledge, skill and advice necessary to make the decision for further treatment. We agreed that he would perform a Repeat Operation - Adhesiolysis under local anesthetic. In January 2019, the second repeat operation went ahead. On this occasion, Mr Tsafrakidis performed the operation himself, again as a day bed patient. There were no complications with this repeat operation. Throughout the operation, under local anesthetic, Mr Tsafrakidis explained exactly what he was going to do, what he did and what he had acheived. On this occasion, the recovery / aftercare plan was explained better to me and prior to discharge, Mr Tsafrakidis visited me to confirm everything had gone well and I understood the next steps. I have just completed a follow-up Out Patient Consultation with Mr Tsafrakidis yesterday and whilst the operation has been a complete success, there is some indication that in the future I may need further treatment. However, I have been discharegd from his care meantime. So how as it for me? The operations, under local anesthetic was OK, but of course the second time around I knew what was about to happen. The injections were by far the worse part of that process. The care team in the Theatre and Ward were outstanding. The recover / aftercare plan was clear, in practice though removal of the bandages etc was a painful experience. Probably the most painful part. Mr Tsafrakidis's care of me was remarkable. I know he decribed me in a letter to my GP as "a delightful man". Well, he was simply amazing. He was very clear and realistic in the options available to me and how we should proceed, allowing me to make the decision about my care. I understand he works mainly in the Lothians but I am so pleased he was able to take charge of my case / care. If I do need further treatment, I hope Mr Tsafrakidis will be available. Reflection: I am a much older man now (59 years of age) and I know I have lived with this condition for much of my adult life. It has impacted upon my confidence; my relationships; my marriage; my physical and mental health and my emotional wellbeing. At times, it has felt like a burden. In the scale of things, I know this is a relatively minor condition. However, I now strongly believe, if I had spoken about this earlier and pro-actively sought treatment, my life would have been much different, of that I am certain. In going forward, I am realistic that I may need a further intervention (s). All men should speak about these matters. There is no shame as I now know. Mr Tsafrakidis has without doubt significantly improved my life. If only I had met him sooner. I am not sure if Mr Tsafrakidis will ever see or read this review, I do hope he does and / or is shown it. I am more than willing to talk to other men about this in the hope they can learn from my past experience and make their futures better. Total respect for Mr Tsafrakidis. NHS Fife need more like Mr Tsafrakidis. Fife Male 59 Years of Age Last Consultation with Mr Tsafrakidis - 2 July 2019

I first met mr tsafrakidis a little over a year ago, my initial impression was that he was very easy to talk too, communication skills were excellent, he explained every detail of what he was going to do previous to the operation, which was successful, and the follow up was first class. I would have no hesitation in recommending him to anyone in this situation.

At the most recent appointment it was anticipated that no further treatment would be agreed following problems with side effects from medication for another condition. This led to anxiety about taking further medication for the urological condition. However, the doctor encouraged continuing with the so far unsuccessful treatment. It is felt that had this level of attention been offered at the onset of the problem after a botched circumcision some fifteen years ago then the likelihood of an improved outcome would have been enhanced.
